
Sharifah Nur Izzati holds a Master of Laws degree (specializing in Corporate and Commercial Law) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) degree from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2010 after having completed her pupillage in Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners (“ZRp”). Thereafter, Sharifah was retained as an associate in ZRp where she obtained extensive experience in providing advice on general corporate and commercial advisory matters, and on corporate transactions within the Malaysian legal and regulatory framework. Her expertise spans a broad range of industry sectors including infrastructure & construction, oil & gas, healthcare, energy & utilities and media & entertainment.
During her stint in ZRp, she was also the solicitor on retainer for PETRONAS, PR1MA Corporation Malaysia and Medivest Sdn Bhd where she had advised in the review, drafting and negotiating of project documentations across various industries including oil & gas, housing construction & developments and healthcare.
Sharifah is also familiar with the energy sector and has been involved in projects relating to the design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of coal-fired power plants and gas district cooling plants in Malaysia.
Sharifah’s experience from her prior roles in Khazanah Nasional Berhad as an in-house legal advisor and in Bursa Malaysia Berhad as a Senior Manager in its Regulatory Policy & Advisory Department covers work related to corporate M&A, fund formation & management, cross-border venture capital investments and drafting and formulating policies related to the derivatives and securities market in Malaysia.
